Robin Williams estate for sale: $29.9M

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014 | Posted by

Robin Williams has switched real estate agents in an attempt to sell his 650-acre “Villa Sorriso” (Villa of Smiles) estate nestled atop the Mayacamas Mountains between Napa and Sonoma counties.

The asking price has been reduced from the $35 million he was seeking in 2012 to $29.9 million, according to his Napa Valley agent, Cyd Greer of Coldwell Banker Previews International.

Greer, who is working with fellow agent Joyce Rey of Beverly Hills, said the property was never marketed on the Multiple Listing Service, and will now receive a broader sales effort among brokers.

“We are targeting buyers in Los Angeles extensively, as well as here,” said Greer. “I’m very optimistic. I would expect it will sell, probably to a local Silicon Valley or Bay Area buyer, or perhaps to an Asian buyer, because it comes with an ultra-premium vineyard. That market is hot now.”

The property covers six parcels – four in Napa County and two in Sonoma – including an 18-acre vineyard and room to plant more. It also includes:

-A 20,000-square-foot Italianate manor with five bedrooms, six baths and five half-baths

-Limestone and walnut floors throughout

-A two-story entry with rotunda and bell tower equipped with a gym, study and seating for enjoying the vistas

-Billiard room

-12-seat home theater

-Wine and art cellars

-Three Kevlar-wrapped safe rooms

-A 65-foot infinity-edge swimming pool with his and hers steamed showers, changing rooms and a pool activities room

-European stone decking

-A multi-tiered sculpture garden

-100 olive trees

-A spring-fed pond and fishing pond

-A tennis court

-A seven-stall horse barn, with hiking and horse-riding trails

-A 3,000 square-foot property manager’s residence with two-car garage and in-ground pool

-A guesthouse

Williams, a comedian and Academy Award-winning actor, reportedly purchased portions of the land in 1994 and built the main home in 2003. The property is located next to Sugarloaf State Park on the Sonoma side of the Mayacmas, with access from the Napa side via Trinity Road and Wall Road.

This is GREAT news!! I was just getting ready to offer $34.9MM. I just saved myself $5MM. I’m going to Disney Land with that extra cash.

Jeez, didn’t know he had such a large family, or is it just for the laborers to keep it groomed?

We need one trillion dollars to repair roads and bridges in the U.S..
Tax at 50 per cent after one-million dollars in R.E. sales..

I believe it is Mayacamas, not Mayacmas.
